After Ellison Falls Improvisation
After Ellison Falls Improvisation
Ellison Hatfield collapses at the election grounds, bleeding heavily.
The crowd erupts — shouting, running, panic.
Devil Anse Hatfield arrives like a storm, rifle in hand, eyes blazing.
Devil Anse:
“Find the McCoy boys. Now.”
Hatfield men spread out across Blackberry Creek.

Tolbert, Pharmer, and Randolph Jr. McCoy flee toward the woods, terrified.
Branches snapping
Boots pounding
Breathless panic
They know the Hatfields are coming.
Tolbert looks back.
Tolbert:
“They’ll kill us if they catch us!”
Pharmer trips.
Randolph Jr. pulls him up.
But it’s too late.
Hatfield men burst through the brush.
Cap Hatfield tackles Tolbert.
Johnse grabs Pharmer.
Devil Anse himself seizes Randolph Jr.
The boys fight, cry, beg — but they’re overwhelmed.
Devil Anse (cold):
“You’ll answer for what you done.”
Tied at the Tree
Tied at the Tree
The McCoy boys are dragged to a clearing near Blackberry Creek.

Hatfield men standing in a grim circle
Tolbert tries to speak.
Tolbert:
“We didn’t mean—”
Devil Anse:
“Save your breath.”
Levicy Hatfield Arrives
Levicy Hatfield walks into the clearing, her face pale, her eyes full of sorrow.
She looks at the boys — then at her husband.
Levicy (soft, trembling):
“Anse… don’t do anything till Ellison’s fate is known.”
Devil Anse nods.
He respects her voice — even in rage.
Levicy steps closer to the McCoy boys.
Levicy:
“Pray. All of you. Pray hard.”
She turns away, wiping tears.
